About Brush Arbor Publications
Biblically Grounded. Spiritually Strengthening.
Brush Arbor Publications exists to preserve sound biblical teaching and place it into the hands of this generation and the generations to come. Through books and other published works, our purpose is to strengthen the Church, preserve the voices and testimonies of faithful Christians, and provide resources that encourage believers in biblical truth, holy living, prayer, and faithful service to Christ.
Our story, however, did not begin in 2025.
Brush Arbor was founded in 1976 by Roger Asselin as Brush Arbor Publishing for the publication of Shine Shine Shine, a collection of poetry written by his wife, Margaret Asselin. The Brush Arbor name and original lettering were connected with Roger and Margaret’s Bible and Prayer ministries. The Bible and prayer book associated with that ministry have been preserved by the family and remain with them today.
Shine Shine Shine was the first book published under the Brush Arbor name and remains an important part of our heritage. Brush Arbor Publications is preparing a new edition of the book, bringing the work that began this publishing ministry back into print fifty years after its original publication.
In 2025, Scott A. Asselin took responsibility for Brush Arbor Publishing and renewed its work with a broader publishing vision. As part of that renewal, the name was changed from Brush Arbor Publishing to Brush Arbor Publications. The change helped distinguish the renewed work from other ministries and organizations using the Brush Arbor Publishing name while also better reflecting what Brush Arbor had become. What began with the publication of one book now encompasses books, ministry resources, historical preservation, and other forms of Christian publication.
Today, Brush Arbor Publications, LLC is a Georgia limited liability company, but its purpose reaches beyond the ordinary work of producing and selling books. We view publishing as a means of stewardship. Valuable biblical teaching can easily disappear when a sermon is preached only once, a testimony remains only in someone’s memory, or the writings of an earlier generation are allowed to pass out of print. Publishing gives those words another opportunity to minister.
That conviction shapes the kinds of projects we pursue. Some preserve messages and ministries that have influenced generations of believers. Some address biblical doctrine, Christian living, holiness, discernment, and practical faith. Others preserve family and ministry history that might otherwise be lost. While the subjects and formats may differ, the purpose remains the same: to produce material worth preserving and worth placing into the hands of others.
We believe Christian publishing carries a particular responsibility. Scripture must be handled carefully. Sources and the work of others should be acknowledged honestly. The voice and intent of those whose sermons, writings, or histories we preserve should be treated with respect. Publication should never become more important than faithfulness to the truth being published.
Brush Arbor Publications therefore seeks to approach every project with biblical fidelity, editorial integrity, and respect for the people and ministries whose work has been entrusted to us. We are not interested simply in adding more titles to a catalog. We want what bears the Brush Arbor name to have a reason for being published.
Nearly fifty years separate the publication of Shine Shine Shine in 1976 from the renewal of Brush Arbor in 2025. Much has changed in publishing during those years. Printed books are now joined by ebooks, audio, digital resources, and other means of preserving and distributing Christian teaching. Yet the purpose behind Brush Arbor remains rooted in the same Christian heritage from which it began.
That is why the words at the heart of Brush Arbor Publications are more than a motto:
Biblically Grounded. Spiritually Strengthening.
Our desire is to preserve sound biblical teaching by placing it into the hands of this generation and the generations to come.
