Partnering with Churches and Ministries

Working Together with Brush Arbor Publications LLC

Brush Arbor Publications LLC is honored to work alongside churches, ministers, and Christian organizations in the publication and preservation of biblically faithful teaching. We recognize that many of our partners operate as churches or nonprofit ministries, and we believe it is important to clearly explain who we are, how we operate, and how partnerships are structured, so that all parties can proceed with confidence, integrity, and mutual understanding.

This page exists to provide clarity, not only legally, but spiritually.

Who We Are—and Who We Are Not

Brush Arbor Publications LLC is a for-profit publishing company with a ministry calling. We are not a church, denomination, nonprofit organization, or 501(c)(3) entity.

At the same time, we exist to serve the Church, preserve sound preaching, and publish Christ-honoring materials rooted in biblical holiness and Pentecostal conviction.

Because churches and ministries often work primarily with nonprofit entities, we believe transparency is essential. Our legal structure allows us to operate efficiently, maintain editorial independence, and sustain long-term publishing efforts, while remaining faithful to our spiritual mission.

Why Brush Arbor Publications Is Not a 501(c)(3)

Brush Arbor Publications has intentionally chosen not to pursue nonprofit status for several reasons that may be helpful for church leaders to understand:

1. Editorial and Doctrinal Clarity

Nonprofit status can introduce external pressures: financial, cultural, or regulatory, that may affect doctrinal clarity. Remaining a for-profit publisher allows us to maintain clear theological convictions without compromise.

2. Fair Compensation for Labor

Scripture teaches that “the labourer is worthy of his hire” (Luke 10:7). Our structure allows us to compensate editors, designers, and contributors appropriately without navigating nonprofit compensation restrictions.

3. Long-Term Sustainability

A self-sustaining publishing model allows us to continue serving churches without dependency on donations, grants, or fundraising campaigns.

4. Clear Separation of Roles

Churches shepherd souls. Ministries disciple believers. Brush Arbor Publications publishes content. Distinct roles allow each entity to function faithfully without confusion.

How Brush Arbor Publications Serves Churches

Although we are not a church or nonprofit, our work is intentionally church-centered.

We serve churches by:

  • Preserving sermons and teaching for future generations
  • Publishing doctrinally sound resources for teaching and discipleship
  • Producing commemorative and historical ministry volumes
  • Providing bulk resources for congregational use
  • Offering editorial and publishing expertise in a ministry-sensitive way

Our goal is not to replace the church’s voice, but to help preserve and amplify it.

Understanding Financial Distinctions

It is important for churches and nonprofit partners to understand the financial distinctions involved in working with Brush Arbor Publications LLC.

Purchases Are Not Donations

Books and services purchased from Brush Arbor Publications are commercial transactions, not charitable gifts.

  • Purchases are not tax-deductible
  • No receipts are issued for charitable contributions
  • No donor language is used in invoices or agreements

This protects churches from IRS complications and ensures compliance on both sides.

Churches Retain Their Nonprofit Integrity

Partnering with Brush Arbor Publications does not affect a church’s nonprofit or tax-exempt status.

  • Churches remain fully autonomous
  • No joint fundraising is conducted
  • No commingling of funds occurs
  • No nonprofit resources are redirected improperly

Our role is limited to publishing and related services, not governance or ministry oversight.

Use of Church or Minister Content

When sermons, teachings, or ministry materials are published, Brush Arbor Publications follows a clear and respectful process:

  • Written consent is obtained
  • Attribution is clearly stated
  • Content ownership is respected
  • Ministerial intent is honored
  • Editorial changes are collaborative and transparent

We believe sermons are sacred trust, not exploitable content.

Honorariums, Royalties, and Compensation

Where applicable, Brush Arbor Publications may provide:

  • Honorariums to ministers
  • Royalties to authors
  • Licensing arrangements for specific uses

Any compensation is handled transparently and in a manner consistent with ethical publishing practices. Churches are never asked to receive funds on our behalf or distribute payments for us.

No Fundraising or Donor Solicitation

Brush Arbor Publications does not:

  • Solicit donations through churches
  • Use church platforms for fundraising
  • Imply charitable partnership
  • Ask churches to promote purchases as giving

Churches may choose to make resources available to their congregations, but such decisions remain entirely under church leadership.

Shared Values, Distinct Roles

We believe healthy partnerships are built on shared values with clearly defined roles.

Shared values may include:

  • Commitment to biblical authority
  • Desire to preserve faithful preaching
  • Holiness as a biblical mandate
  • Reverence for the work of the ministry

Distinct roles ensure that:

  • Churches remain shepherds
  • Ministries remain disciplers
  • Publishers remain publishers

Clarity protects testimony.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can our church partner with a for-profit publisher?

Yes. Churches may legally and ethically work with for-profit vendors who provide goods or services aligned with their mission.

Does purchasing books support a ministry?

Purchases support the ongoing operations of Brush Arbor Publications, which in turn enables continued ministry-aligned publishing. However, purchases are not charitable donations.

Will our church be listed as a sponsor or donor?

No. Churches may be acknowledged as ministry partners or hosting entities when appropriate, but never as donors unless a separate charitable arrangement exists entirely outside our company.

Can proceeds benefit ministry causes?

Brush Arbor Publications may choose to allocate profits toward ministry-aligned purposes, but such decisions remain internal and are not presented as charitable programs.

Why Churches and Ministries Choose to Work with Us

A Statement of Mutual Respect

We believe that when clarity, integrity, and reverence guide partnerships, the result is fruit that honors Christ and strengthens His Church.

Closing Word to Church Leaders

Brush Arbor Publications LLC exists to serve, not to replace, control, or commercialize, the work of the Church.

We are grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside churches in preserving truth, honoring faithful preaching, and equipping believers for holy living.

If you have questions, concerns, or require written clarification for board or legal review, we welcome those conversations.

Faithfulness thrives where transparency leads.
